T O P I C R E V I E Wnasamad Just as a little something to do, I was mucking around trying different combinations of a Buzz Aldrin Gemini 12 image I would like to get signed, and thought you might be interested. I've made up 8 versions of the same image that I want signed, if you could have one of these, which one would it be and why ? http://www.adboo.com/auto/colour.htm I'd be interested to hear your reasons, as I know most people's choices are usually just between litho or print, just wondering if you are as choosy about orientation, etc.Cheers..........AdamNC Apollo FanMy personal choice would be the Color/Gold/Panorama. They all look sharp, but this one really stands out to me. I like the gold in contrast with the brilliant blue of the Earth - and I like the panorama as it conveys more of the grandeur of a spacewalk. In fact, I'd like to have one!Jonathan[This message has been edited by NC Apollo Fan (edited July 19, 2002).]CPIAI like both the Color/Gold and B&W/Silver panaroma shots. The color is sharp and the B&W has nice tonal qualities. LarrybruceThey are very cool in their own unique ways, though my favorite is the Colour / Gold / Panorama.Best, BruceRodinaDefinately the Panorama is the better shot. Too many shots focus way too close on the astronauts themselves, rather than on the astronauts in the very environment that makes their job cooler than, say, deep sea welders.I'd go Panorama/Color - althugh the Sepia is pretty cool too.uzzi69COLOUR/SILVER/PANORAMA !!!The curve of the Earth is the greatest part of this picture. I can only imagine what Buzz's view must have been like!!!! Makes the heart skip a beat.....Regards, Bill uzzi69ScottHi Adam,I would not recommend getting this photo signed if you are going to be paying him $250. Aldrin's fee is way too high in my opinion, especially to have this photo signed. The only photo I would even think of sending him to get signed is the famous "visor" shot from Apollo 11. Even then you are hardly getting your money's worth, but at least it will be worth much more. Just my 2 cents.Best wishes,Scottstn5:-)JacquelineThe sepia/gold/panorama. Brilliant!JacquelinenasamadHi Scott, I was lucky enough to get the visor shot signed and personalized before he raised his prices. I just feel that the Gemini mission was a major step forward in the success of EVA's, mainly due to Buzz's approach to training, and is constantly forgotten because of his part in Apollo 11. (plus it is a beautiful image !) I had the same dilemma a few months back when Scott was signing at Novaspace, on whether to get a Gemini 8 shot or an Apollo 9 shot signed. In the end I went for the Gemini 8 shot as it was a milestone for the first US docking. To be honest I don't really look at what items are worth now, which is why I had them personalized. I have no plans to sell any of my items.Cheers.......AdamBigWaveDaveWell said Adam ...some of my favorite items are ones that supposedly I paid too much for. Because they bring me great pleasure, I didn't pay a dime too much. But hey, ... what do I know.Aloha all,Dave------------------nasamad I know this is going to put me over my bandwidth, but I have put a page on my site with some nice 8x10's for people to download and print (I use Jessops.com being in the UK but I think ofoto is the usual in the US). The main part of the images is based on Aldrin, Cernan, an Schmitt as Novaspace seem to be planning signing for those 3. Hopw they are OK !Happy Collecting......Adam http://www.adboo.com/auto/hires.htm UKRuss2Adam,These are great - Thank you very much!Excuse my computer ignorance, but will one of these images fit onto a regular 3.5" floppy to take into Jessops? Will Jessops have a problem with copyright? Thanks for your help - I hope to print a couple of these images and send them in to Novaspace for the Cernan signing.Cheers,Russ.nasamadHi Russ, These files wont fit on a floppy unless you compress them, but then your losing detail !(added later; the orbital sunrise will fit onto a floppy as it is the smallest one, at 886kb, the largest one is nearly 5mb ! (Antares on lunar surface)) If you go onto the Jessops site and look for Print@net, download their little bit of software and you can do all your printing from home (8x10's are about £1.30), plus they are printed on Fuji Crystal Archive paper so they'll last for ages before any fading, etc.(added later; 8x10's are £1.24 each, min order of £5.00) No, I've never had any problems with copyright of the images (over 30 of my sigs on my site are on Jessops printed pictures)Happy printing....Adam www.adboo.com/auto [This message has been edited by nasamad (edited July 21, 2002).]UKRuss2Thanks Adam - I appreciate your help. Can I ask another? Is there a place we can go to download high resoltion images like these free of charge? i.e. if any astros are going to Autographica 2003, where could I download my preferred picture to print for them to sign? Thanks again for your help.Russ.UKRuss2Adam,Sorry - answered my own question - I found the GRIN website for high resolution images.I will have a pretty cool mug in the next few days from Jessops. Guess what all my family will be receiving for Birthdays evermore? Thanks,Russ.[This message has been edited by UKRuss2 (edited July 21, 2002).]nasamad Hi Russ, The GRIN site is where is sourced most of the images I put on the page. As well as the Lunar Surface Journal and The Project Apollo Archive. Speaking of hi-res images, is anyone able to get on the http://spaceflight.nasa.gov/ pages, as it seems to have been down for a few days now ! Cheers......Adam
